Janice C. Raley, MD, FACOG
My journey to Colorado began in the Midwest. While growing up in Springfield Missouri, I dreamed of being a physician since childhood. To reach this goal, I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Missouri and completed my medical school and residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. I found that I loved interacting with and getting to know patients as well as the challenge of surgery. As I received training in all aspects of Ob/Gyn, I knew this field of medicine was a perfect fit for my interests.
After residency, I decided Colorado was the place for me. I grew up vacationing here and thought why not “vacation” everyday. My husband and two girls love living here in Colorado and are sure we will never leave. We enjoy the outdoors; hiking, skiing, mountain and road bike riding. What a great place to live where you can work hard and “play hard.”
As a physician, I pride myself on being able to listen to a patient and appropriately manage her medical needs, whether with surgery or medications. Helping patients to feel better and stay better is what I do. I enjoy caring for women of all ages, starting with teenagers, through the reproductive years, and into menopause. I also find it gratifying to care for all types of obstetrical patients from uncomplicated to high risk pregnancies and twin pregnancies. It is such a joy to help a family welcome a precious little one into the world.
